splurge
Hello, I'd be grateful for any advice anyone could offer on the subject of fixing my dial illumination. My speedo, tacho, and three auxiliary dials (it's a facelift Supra) don't seem to light up any more. All the other interior lights work fine. Am I right in assuming that it's probably just a bulb blown or a dodgy contact? If so, please could someone advise me how to remove the instrument pod and fix it, or direct me to where some guidelines for doing this are available? (I have checked that it's not just the instrument illumination dial turned all the way down ) Cheers!

It is VERY easy to kill the solid state dimmer assembly, and they are EXPENSIVE to replace.
Dragonball
Give Emin a call - he knows more about these now If it has gone - the EL dials will still work well

The only thing I can think of is that it had an alarm fitted recently - could this have screwed it up? Cheers!

All the gauge lighting won't fail at one go unless a fuse has gone, if indeed a single fuse covers the guage lighting. Suspect the alarm installation, if it is after this the trouble started. LeeT
is it possible that when they installed the alarm they knocked wire/connector of back of dimmer switch?

splurge
Thanks for all your advice so far. Here's a pic of my fuses, shortly to be followed by a pic of the fuse layout. Any idea which one is the crucial one, and whether it's blown or not? Cheers!
splurge
And here's the fuse layout diagram, with its mysterious abbreviations...
Chris Wilson
Wouldn't have been quicker / easier to just pull them all out one by one and see if any have blown?
splurge
Yep... if I had the faintest idea what a blown fuse looked like or how to pull them out, which being an electrically-ignorant fool, I haven't
