hogmaw
I had a puncture in one of my rear tyres this weekend while up north and I had to get back to london, and the only tyre the garage had that would fit was a pirelli. I was lucky to find a garage open on a sunday. The bloke said were good and were usually used for the porsche 996. So now I have one rear tyre that is pirelli, and the other is Eagle F1. Is that Ok, or should I: 1 - get another pirelli to match the new one OR 2 - ditch the pirelli (cost me £170 ) and get another F1 OR 3 - leave as is - is it Ok to have 2 different rear tyres? Homer
Personally I'd get a new Pirelli. Its expensive but with high powered rwd cars they're very sensitive to rear tyre condition and wear. I've had mismatched tyre's on my car before and the handling was shocking, in the dry it was a 'little' twitchy, but in the wet it was truly scary. Take it very easy until you know just how different the tyre characteristics are. Let us know how you find the Pirelli vs F1 too (plus the exact make)
Lucifer
You can mismatch Axel sets but but nothing else really if you DRIVE the car. If you are a TT then I wouldn't.
Supra-Dupra
Ive had pirelli on the front and dunlop on the rear for the last year, there was no problems at all, in dry or wet. TT Auto.
