green_dragon
So is the general concensus (sp) to use pile cream instead of Savlon? Also a mate said he just used vasoline on his, is this right too?
Kittyclaws
So is the general concensus (sp) to use pile cream instead of Savlon? Also a mate said he just used vasoline on his, is this right too? Vasoline is not bad, as long as it stops the bleeding, as you don't want to lose any of the colour, but it won't help it heal faster, unlike pile cream (lasonil for one)

mr keef
Looks great green dragon!! most tattoo shops praise the hell outa preperationH..(For piles)but this seemed to make mine dry.but here is the after care: """""""""""" TATTOO AFTERCARE """""""""""" 1. REMOVE DRESSING TWO HOURS AFTER TATTOO WAS APPLIED. 2. WASH TATTOO THOROUGHLY WITH HOT WATER AND SOAP, THEN PAT DRY AND LEAVE OPEN. DO NOT APPLY ANY MORE DRESSINGS. 3. KEEP YOUR TATTOO CLEAN. DO NOT ALLOW PEOPLE TO TOUCH THE TATTOO WHILST HEALING (YOU DO NOT KNOW WHERE THEIR HANDS HAVE BEEN!!!!!!!!!!!). LOOSE, SOFT, CLEAN CLOTHES CAN BE WORN OVER A TATTOO WHILST IT IS HEALING, ALTHOUGH YOU SHOULD GET THE AIR TO IT WHERE POSSIBLE. 4. YOUR TATTOO WILL FORM A SCAB ON THE SECOND DAY. ALTHOUGH YOU SHOULD STILL WASH THE TATTOO ONCE DAILY WITH HOT WATER AND SOAP, YOU MUST NOT SOAK THE SCAB. THIS MEANS SHOWERS ARE IDEAL OR YOU MUST KEEP YOUR TATTOO OUT OF THE BATH WATER TILL LAST SO IT DOES NOT SOAK. ALWAYS GENTLY PAT DRY IMMEDIATELY 5. DO NOT PICK THE SCAB. THE SCAB WILL FALL OFF BY ITS SELF WHEN IT IS READY. THIS USUALLY TAKES ABOUT 7 TO 10 DAYS BUT VARIES FROM PERSON TO PERSON. YOU WILL GET DRY SKIN ON OR AROUND THE TATTOO DURING HEALING, THIS IS NORMAL. 6 .IF YOU WISH TO USE CREAM, A SMALL AMOUNT OF SAVLON ANTISEPTIC CREAM CAN BE APPLIED ONCE A DAY TO HELP SOOTHE ANY ITCHY DISCOMFORT. DO NOT USE VASELINE; SAVLON WOUND WASH OR ANY OTHER CREAM. 7. DO NOT SWIM OR SUN BATHE WHILE THE TATTOO IS HEALING. IF YOU LOOK AFTER YOUR TATTOO YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. GeordieSteve
I use prep H on mine as well. Wouldn't use vasceline tho, it stops the tattoo from breating
mattanna
Definately do not use vaseline, best is e45 as it is non greasy, and did the trick for me, after a few days need to wipe gently with a sponge, but you will eventually get dry skin(like after sunburn) forming which itches, best not to pull it put e45 on it, a slight amount of colour can come off with the scabs, this is normal, do not pull any scab that is tight as you can lose more colour, should be fine after about 7/8 days, scabs look like dry skin hence why e45 is good

colsoop
That looks good, you mentioned you were going back , what is left to do to it. You chose a good place as the back is one of the less sensitive parts to have work done.

Charlotte
So he bought all the gear out of the Exchange and Mart and set himself up in a little shop. Quite scary that you don't need to have some kind of license or formal training. It turned out that Tony wasn't setting the needle depth anywhere near deep enough! No wonder all his customers that first week said that it didn't hurt much! PMSL. Just imagining the people that went there and boasted to their friends how much it didn't hurt! So, is he still going?
