Peter P
Hi Guys, I've got the car in with Paul Whiffin at the moment and in a moment of madness have gone for a single conversion (more details to follow but it's not a HUGE one like most of you! ). Basically, I no longer need my hybrids which I can't tell anyone much about as they were on the car when I got it from Robert who didn't know much about them either!! Not sure if B'have has any ideas either as this was his car before as well?! They are now off my car in a box at Paul's place where the buyer can collect if possible (postage would be a killer with something this heavy!). Didn't appear to be any play in them and as Robert will hopefully confirm these pulled really well. I'm looking for £400ono which is a fair price given I have to sell these as seen because it's too costly to pull them apart for checking things but were nice and quick with good spool up etc. Any questions or offers please PM me. Should add, these must sell as I need some money to pay Paul for my single conversion so sensible offers considered. Cheers, Pete
Robert
Hello mate, yes the turbos were excellent, pulled very well. Im sure they had done less than 4k miles when i sold the car to you. Good price aswell Peter.
Peter P
Thanks for that Robert Shame you went single as I remember you asking about these if I was going to sell them for the Aristo! Think that's a fair price as a new set are £1,000+ and as you say these weren't on the car for more than 7,000miles and dont have any shaft play etc. Will see how the offers go but thanks for the backup! Peter P
You'll see the car there then as she's sitting outside in the middle of an engine transplant as the bottom end started knocking on the old girl!!! Decided as Paul was swapping the engines over it was a good time to cash in on the labour side of things for fitting the single conversion. Based on a Garrett GT35R and will hopefully be around 550HP which is spot on for what I want given it's a road car/ daily driver. Glad the Aristo is going well, looks great m8! Conrad
What boost you been running on these? And would you consider posting?
Peter P
Still available!! These were running at 1.2bar quite happily and putting out around 450HP with the other BPU mods done. I will post these for an additional £20 via Whifbitz but the delivery and the turbos are NOT endorsed by Paul or Whifbitz in any way whatsoever. Paul checked the shafts for play and said they felt fine but in order to get his name to them they'd need to be stripped and fully inspected which would cost a fair bit and up the price so not worth doing IMHO. All I can say is they were running fine on my UK spec and pulling well with no power loss or boosting issues and that the shafts don't have any play in them. There are no guarantees but at this price there wouldn't be! (new hybrids are over £1,000 of anyones money from what i've been told). Any question or PM's let me know. Peter P
Price reduced to £350 as all you penny pinchers seem to be holding out for a bargain!!! They WILL not be reduced in price by any more than that as even with no guarantees that's a hell of a price for tubbies I know were working fine on my car and producing around 450HP with the supporting mods! Paul Whiffin will post these out for me for an extra £20 but cannot accept any responsibility for damage in transit etc as this would be as a favour to me. Prefer for the buyer to collect from the workshops in Enfield. Questions or PM's welcome but not asking for a lower price as I need the money but am NOT that desperate!! Marty
so are these for a uk spec car? or a jap spec? as the downpipe is different on the uk spec
SteveL
I've driven petes car a few times and found these turbos to be fine. Pulled well and never showed any signs of problems on first/second spool and the switch over as well. Martin - they're off a UK spec. If Pete doesn't sell these soon - I'm gonna be lending him the money! - so someone please buy them :-))
Peter P
Cheers Steve (cheeky sod!!! ). They are from a UK but only means you need the UK spec first de-cat pipe which Paul Whiffin can supply and send out with the turbo's if needed. You can find them on his website: http://www.whifbitz.co.uk Cheers, Pete
SteveL
Coming through.... techie boy to the rescue :p You can find it easier from here : http://www.whifbitz.co.uk/supra-exhausts.html No worries Pete - supose I should pay you for that bonnet soon
Bob
Peter, you need bit more to fit UK turbos to a J-spec - iirc you need the manifold and the ceramicy valve type thingy as well as the downpipe. Though if you're going single, I'd imagine you could supply those too

Peter P
Just to confirm this WILL include the manifold etc just need a UK spec downpipe and first de-cat pipe which Paul Whiffin can supply if needed. Final reduction, first £300 takes it but I need this done in the next couple of days as my bill will be needing payment at Paul's!! If a stock low mileage set of UK tubbies can go for £200 with no guarantee etc then surely someone will want stage 3 hybrids that were working fine and have no shaft play for an extra £100?! Delivery would be £20 on top but that doesn't have any guarantee etc so collection from the Whifbitz workshop in Enfield would be preferable! Any takers?? Payment by bank transfer preffered (details available via PM to first confirmed offer). Cheers, Pete
fat_controller
ask paul how much it would be to fit these?
SupraJames
thats a very tempting price, they would bolt straight onto mine as well..!
Peter P
I'll ask Paul what he can do pricewise on the fitting etc! Will get a quote for the downpipe and 1st de-cat for all you J-Spec guys as well. It is a good price as there really should be no problems with these at all no shaft play issues and were pulling like a train on my car! Especially the 2nd one! really gave a nice kick when that started spooling up! I can't offer a guarantee on them but can confirm they were working fine on mine at 1.2bar (maximum I ever used) and generated approx 450HP with the other BPU mods. Only reason for sale is I ended up with a great deal on going single thanks to Paul! Cheers, Pete
SupraJames
Peter is that 450 at the wheels or fly..? Just concerned about my auto box, im putting out 375 at the hubs at the mo.
Peter P
I'm not entirely sure as it was an estimate Paul gave me. What I can say is my autobox is stock and as far as I'm aware is the original one so has covered 117,000 odd miles and coped fine. I do have a Mocal gearbox oil cooler (being a UK as well you should have one as standard, mine wasn't there for some odd reason!) but other than that no other mods to the tranny whatsoever. Paul reckons approx £350 for fitting these but depends on how easily the old stuff comes off as it can be a bit of a nightmare sometimes! The pipe J-Spec boys need will be £110 + Vat so £129.25 all inclusive. Any questions give me a shout. Cheers, Pete
SupraJames
Yeah Peter did have a trans cooler as stock, but had to remove it due to FMIC piping, but am replacing it with a Fluidyne one very soon.
SupraJames
Im just trying to figure out if there would be a big difference with these over stock UK tubs..? could any one offer any advice..? as at the price im very tempted..!
SteveL
Im just trying to figure out if there would be a big difference with these over stock UK tubs..? could any one offer any advice..? as at the price im very tempted..! James, When these were on Petes car, I noticed that the spool from the second turbo felt like the same 'hit' that you get from a j-spec thats decatted. Compared to my j-spec auto I had, I'd say they were a lot better, and safely producing the extra power without the downside of wondering how long the blades would last. A double benefit if you like Anyone considering these should bare in mind that they'd be great as a spare set of twins - especially at this price, with the bonus of uprated internals. Pete's would've kept these running for a lot longer, it's only that a combination of me /my single and Paul able to offer a great deal on a single kit that Pete's getting rid of them .
