Terminator
What is the finish? If it is stainless, keep it, if not, go black as it will go matt grey eventually YUK

I’m not sure if they will spray it with lacquer to protect it but, will ask. Do you think it will still fade even with a protective coating on it ? michael
Is that bit supposed to be black? Mine isn't
Paul
Don't think mine is black, looks more like a treated dark colour/gunmetal? Peter, if it's ali then left alone it'll get waterstained and not sure lacquer will do as it'll get chipped easy. Best thing would be anodising it Find somewhere to do this or have a go yourself, I just done my ali control knobs and they came out great. All you need is: Sulphuric acid, distilled water, aluminium welding rods and a battery charger. Once anodised it'll be very hardwearing and won't stain or mark. Bobbeh
Yes, its more Shadowchrome than black on mine.
Paul
If you want to anodise colours you can, food colouring is meant to work but haven't tried colours yet. Paul

Paul
Peter, out of interest does the mesh come away from the scoop with it removed, how easy to replace? Just a thought but I might make a new one out of stainless for mine if it does. Paul
