dude
Ok guys there are now quite a few of us going big single route , Fastisnice being the latest thread , now most of these hopefully are going to be used in anger on both the drag strip and trackdays / handling courses (TOTB) all the threads/ comments/pricing etc and i have never once seen any safety issues mentioned , how many of us even carry a fire extinguisher , its a long wait for the fire marshalls when your upside down in a t-shirt and the cars on fire , thats just basic common sense but heres some more food for thought , some of the guys say they are aiming for 800+RWHP have you ever seen a car dig its propshaft in to the tarmac as it changes into 2nd or 3rd gear , trust me its not nice , how do you stop this i hear you ask , its quite easy 1 or 2 prop hoops available from most yank type shops or PAW or Jegs , or fit a carbon prop if breaks it will just shatter and hopefully thats the only damage , no diff or driveshaft failiure!!, no one mentions a roll cage , think of this nice hard shift into 3rd or 4th (man) or into 2nd 3rd (auto) driveshaft snaps you turn sharp left or right and you WILL roll so you might want a harness as well and maybe a crash hat and trust me a low 10 second car warrants a firesuit !!!!. 850 hp thru a manual , ever seen a flywheel shear off at 7000rpm do you know where it goes , i'll tell you where thru the tunnel thru your ankles and out the side of the car and prob on to kill someone in the crowd , same with exploding torque converters , you really need a scatter shield or blanket , same with your front pulley anything under 11 seconds in comp. needs a certified damper like fluidyne/boostlogic etc , even the wheelstuds need addressing with this sort of power , food for thought guys dont just build em fast build em safe !!!!! Scooter
you need to get yourselves a nice 220bhp NA, the only danger with these is nodding off at the wheel.................
Nick
I've carried a fire extinguisher in the car ever since my mate had to put out the flames under the bonnet of his RS Turbo with a McDonalds Super size Coke. I haven't got a cup holder....

dude
Just bugs me when people say oh it didnt cost as much as i thought and when you look at the cars you realise why , anyone can build a fast car the trick is building a fast relaible SAFE car , if anyone has ever driven a 10 second car they will know what i mean , i drove a super gas car once (to obtain a race license ) it was only a 1/2 pass but you cannot believe how fast things happen , sadly it was tottaled later that day when a half shaft snapped and it rolled several times No as far as i know Miami-rice will not be selling rollcages etc , in fact due to heavy work commitments i will be taking more of a back seat in M-R and letting paul get on with selling his bling etc as i have to get my car built and finish/start the latest projects including the Ricer Kings himself . No probs mate i know where your coming from , but id hate to be organizing a whip round for some flowers because people dont realise props snap etc best bet is get a race car regs book and see what issues they address then see how they transfer to the use intended for a particular car , im sure CW could help out here . dude :flame Dev
