sipstrassi
hi people just paid my £10 for membership...bargain. i have a question about VVTI engines are they just on TT or can you get them for N/A reason for asking iam getting a 2000 N/A and was wondering if it had the VVTI cheers
Homer
They were available on NA and TT from 97 I beleive (though 97's had a mix of nonVVTi and VVTi cars). A 2000 NA will be a VVTi for sure.
Nic
Some of the later model NA's came with the VVTi engine, they are extremely rare though, only ever seen 2 members on here with a VVTi NA. There are Supercharger kits available for the VVTi NA, which would be an interesting mod to see.

Homer
Well, the one in your garage is no VVTi, thats for sure. Do you have details from the VIN plate, like the model and chassis number?

It is not a VVTi, you can see the distributor on the LHS, the VVTi's have electronic ignition.

You need the VIN details first, then go here and enter the details to find exactly what specification (and year) the car is: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=41702
Jake
I can't see how it can be a y2k Supra if it's not a VVTi. What's the chassis number? That'll tell us for sure (PM me if you don't want to post it here)
dangerous brain
New zealand forum lists cars ages from VIN number I beleive OK had a quick looksee http://mkiv.supras.org.nz/manufacture.htm try that link and see what it does for you
geoffvalenti
From the number in your garage, it looks like a June 2000 car. Where are you getting the number from, the Vin plate or the stamping on the firewall?
colsoop
I wonder if it is one of those cock ups at the dvla with registering the car ? A few cars have come up that were registered as newer than they actually were.
