Homer
With the hot weather the boost level is dying on my car. It hits 1.25 bar fuel in 4th/5th gear in winter but is now struggling to reach 0.9 bar. AFR's are still rich (mostly aroung 10.5) so it can certainly take a lot more boost despite the heat. So, how can I cheaply and quickly increase the boost of the car before the weekend? Removing the resricitor ring is out the question since it hits 1.3 bar in 2nd! I'm off to Santa Pod at the weekend so would like to increase to 1.2 bar for the event.

Homer
bleed valve? Was thinking the same thing... Not sure who can ship one before Sat... Also I've got no idea how to set one up. Couldn't find anything on a search since almost everyone says not to use them!
JamieP
hmmm... i know that speed shack in west drayton high street normally has them in stock. Fitted them a few times to cosworths but i would not be sure where to put it on a twin turbo car:)

carl0s
Whip off the hose from the wastegate actuator. That'll sure increase boost (too much). Put a bleed valve in line with it though so that some of the air goes where it should and actuates the wastegate, and you'll be sorted. Halfords for the bleed valve. Took a lot of explaining, mostly about RS Turbo boys (and taps) for them to go upstairs and dig one out though.
merckx
You don't have to open the valve much for an increase in boost, so be careful. I didn't fancy cutting the hose on the car, fuel hose and the those springy clips are ideal for putting on one end of the bleed valve. Did you go for a bleed valve or manual boost controller? How have you found it, any problems etc??

Homer whats the state of your I/C, the temps alone shouldnt bring your boost down to 0.9Bar from 1.2Bar, TBH at most with a healthy I/C the drop in boost should be around 0.05-0.1Bar. Im in West London where we see some of the hottest temps and my boost has only dropped by 0.1Bar. Be careful with upping the boost to compensate for the drop in boost if your I/C isnt in good shape for obvious reasons.

IC is mint, its a Greddy 3-row fully ducted from a do-luck front. This is the 3rd summer my car has been BPU and I get the same pressure drop in hot temps every time (Thought its been much better the last 2 due to the FMIC fitment). Homer
Im stumped mate as ive never noticed such a drop, i say Lazy turbos:D Maybe we're talking different speeds here? Below 3rd there's no real difference, but the drop off is really noticable in 4th, 5th and 6th (100mph and above).
wkdtime
I notice the drop in mine in the lower gears 1-3, and in the higher gears its pretty much at the peak just sitting slightly lower, thus due to high load in higher gears the differnce is minimal. I'm aiming to use this for drag use only (until all the electronic gizmos go in this winter), so its a for 4k+ rpm use only. Not for road use at all.
