markymark
ok major rant here - just sitting in work, a guy is walking past with a young child & a staffy on a harness. The reason I looked up was I could hear the guy shouting. The dog is walking along, but pulling to the left. Then I see him raise his hand & slap the dog on the side (not just a tap, I mean he lifted his hand to the dog). At this stage, I stand up to watch him from the window. Then he does it about 10 times walking down the street. I want to go kick his head in, but I don't want no comebacks on my work What a scumbag - where do these people get off???? Seriously, I hope round the corner, the dog took a chunk out of his balls - I HATE people like this, the dog wasn't even doing anything wrong Anyone else ever been in this position - do you think I should have said something? He looked a bit of a nutter, but he had a young child with him. What is happening to the world? Has anyone noticed things happening like this a lot more often? I seem to... Rant over

Tattooman
Ahhhh man I would have gone out and battered him stupid there and then if I saw anyone doing that to an animal. I punched a guy about 10yrs ago for kicking his Dog and I hope he'll think twice before doing it again. Animals just don't deserve that kind of treatment if they aren't doing anything wrong. He may of been toughening it up for fighting as a lot of Scumbags fight their dogs for big money. T0553RS !!!! :eyebrows:
markymark
It was the way he was hitting it was more sick - he was lifting his hand up to the right, straight up (shoulder height) & putting his fingers together (not like a fist) then hitting the dog on the side with his hand like this. I seriously wish I had said something, but with the kid there etc... & on a busy street I didn't want a mental scene. Thing is he walked past loads of people doing it - no shame in the guy. Sicko - the ultimate sicko. Dog fighting is also just wrong - crazy world we live in...

markymark
Yeah - my girlfriend has a staff at home in Ireland. It is a beautiful dog - they are so badly represented. When the dog used to come stay with me, we'd take it walks & all the other owners would have their dogs off the lead. Tizer would walk near them, & they would give us a ballocking about 'a dog like that' being off the lead. That's what's so upsetting seeing it, because they are one of the only dogs I know that you can annoy day & night & they will never retaliate. Supragal
Had a bad experience a while back. We were walking our pups in the wood behind our house when a greyhound appeared out of nowhere. We stood there and eventually a kid turned up and claimed it, dog blatently didn't pay any attention to him but wandered off in his direction as we were stood still. About 10 mins from home dog appeared again (my god they are SILENT!) and that was it, couldn't get rid of it. Terrified scrappy, it didn't mean to but I think it ran after him and it was so big and fast he just fell into a little ball screaming his head off, thought it had bitten him but it hadn't he was just being a woss! Anyway, we carried on walking, ignoring it, couldn't get rid of it. No shouts from the owner or anything. Got to the turning into our close and it was still with us. No tag on the collar. It followed us and was obviously then on the road so I said we couldn't leave it I'd be livid if our dogs got out etc and someone just let them wander around on a road. So i put our dogs in and Jon took the greyhound back into the wood. He was gone AGES I was literally just putting my shoes on to go find him and he came home, absolutely steaming. He'd had to walk as far back as when we first saw them, some kid approcahed him "is that you dog?" "no it was out on the road" [kids shouts his mate] other kid comes over and Jon says "you need to keep an eye on him he was on the road" kinda thing to which he replies "sorry mate stupid f*cking dog" and as Jon turned to walk away the kid starts proper laying into it, and I do mean punching the crap out of the dog until it was screaming it's head off. He was going to do something abotu it but couldn't see the point- he was just going to go home and beat it anway. I was livid. I wish we'd kept it. Charlotte
That's so sad. People are cruel, clearly the kid had been taught how to 'treat' the dog that way.
Tattooman
Staffies are robust little buggers and do have a high pain threshold, they tend to bounce straight back from mishaps that should be really painful very quickly. But that owner still deserved a real good kicking !!!
Supragal
Of course when I say kid, I mean more like youth 16+ I suppose.
stupra
Yeah, been there myself. I'd warned the guy a couple of times not to beat his dog, (i'd seen him do it a few times). One day I saw him kicking it whist holding it with the lead, so I grabbed the dog, gave it to my mate, an kicked the shit outta him. I've still got her now, an she's the most loyal dog I know, love her to bits. I've also stoped the car a while back to have a word with a guy whacking his dog with a big stick. A big or powerfull dog needs to know its not the boss, but people take the piss when they hurt them, an when you read about cruelty in the papers, it makes your blood boil. Fu*king scum. Guest richie rich
Got to agree with all of you. All dogs are the same, theres no such thing as a bad dog. Just bad owners!!! I Rescued a black lab cross rottweiler last year cos the owner just left it locked in the kitchen all day. He's the most loving softy in the world and wants nothing more than a fuss.
