Which uprated clutchs goes with stock flywheel?

The OS Giken twin plate clutch on my car started slipping at TOTB so I guess I need a new one. Can I just change the clutch disk for another OSG one or will I likely need a new pressure plate and/or flywheel? (I believe it has an OSG flywheel too)

If I can't just replace the clutch disc with another OSG one I think I'll change it back to the stock Toyota flywheel and an uprated clutch, because I don't enjoy the rattling the lightened flywheel causes. Terry Saunders mentioned the RPS Street Max was pretty good for my power level but I can't see the Street Max on www.mvpmotorsports.com

Ernie (ChiefGroover) recommended another uprated clutch for use with the stock flywheel but I can't remember which one.

Assuming I go for the RPS Street Max or similar, what other parts will I need to get for job? Obviously a flywheel and 8 bolts, what else? The MVP

web site mentions 'Throw out bearings' and 'Snap rings' but I don't really know what these are.

Thanks for any help.

ps

What is the plural of clutch? Is it clutches or clutchs? :)

I know with my HKS twin plate on my mk3 I had the option of buying new friction discs for like £75 each (2 required) or a complete overhaul kit for about £300. The clutch was in good condition when I got it out so just cleaned up mating faces and replaced the friction discs. Worked a treat :)

i agree with Brian, there is generally an overhaul package that can be bought for uprated clutches. The throw out bearing is just the bearing that sits behind the clutch fork and its held in by the various snap rings. Its recommended you change this each time you do a clutch although i dont know how vital. There is also a small bearing behind the flywheel which is recommended to be replaced too which is about £4 from toyota

This link should help with the various components

Oh, and i think its CLUTCHES :)

Jake - let me know if you are looking for an RPS - I can get hold of one for you

Got someone else looking for one now

This is rated to 660 lbs and is +38% stock pressure required £495.00

Also this can be put with CYN-R-G 6 BOLT AWD ECLIPSE Flywheel cost price £325 with above

Give me a call to discuss as might be able to arrange a better deal

The RPS Street Max is cool and groovy, mine is holding out nicely after a couple of years  However if the OSG clutch has converted everything then as far as I recall it's expensive to go back to a stock pull clutch arrangement, due to all the stock parts junked in the conversion. CW always mentions this.

So go for a new friction plate, if indeed that's what is at fault. I would imagine you can still check the friction plate via the inspection hatches?

NO stock parts are junked in an OSG conversion which is why ther are one of my favorite conversions to do.

Why did you change it back m8?

Probably the same reason I did - it makes your gearbox sound like a bag of nails, and eventually you get annoying with having to tell people "yes, it's supposed to sound like that", "no, it's not broken"...
