Converting from kmh to mph

I know you can get a device from Thor for about £80. But I've also seen something on ebay for about £30 or £40 if I remember.

It's a little box that gets wired in etc... I used to have one on my old pulsar.

Any reason why I should spend the extra £40 and get a thor one???

thanks

but they both basically do the exact same though right?

I had one of those from ebay but it just didn't work properly. The needle would jump around all the time and the speed was inconsistent. Rewired it several times, tried running an earth directly onto the car etc with no luck. Bought and fitted a thor one and it's been 100% from the off. :)

When I bought my supra I had it done as part of the deal. They guy used a cheap £40 quid one and the needle wasal over the place. I had him 'fix' it 4 times by changing the converter and eventually got him to give me £40 cash instead and put it towards a THOR converter. The good thing about the THOR ones is that they have 2 feeds coming off them, one is KM and one is miles.....which means you can send the miles feed to the speedo and the km feed to the digital ODO if you have one. That way it carries on clocking up the KM's while your speedo reads mph.

yellrbox.com

You can adjust the signal so that the speedo will read bang on correct, rather than the +10% that all speedo's read. Plus you don't have to put up with the unfortunately rather laughable customer service that Thor offer.
