Jim_1979
Does the dump valve go off between gear changes... ala manual ... or only when on boost and you let off the gas?? If it doesn't go off etc... where does the boost pressure go between changes? Also in theory should the Auto not be faster as the turbo is always spinning?? Ingnore me if I'm talking pish!! .... lol. Cheers
Robert
it only goes off when on boost and when you let off, it doesn't go off between gear changes....well mine didn't

Jim_1979
which leads me too..... If it changs so quickly... why is the manual TT faster from 0-60 ?

JamieP
which leads me too..... If it changs so quickly... why is the manual TT faster from 0-60 ? because you get bigger drivetrain loses on a auto;) i think:D
Rayman
The manual is quicker with a driver that can change gear spot on every shift.
Rayman
because you get bigger drivetrain loses on a auto;) i think:D and that too, the auto is a lot easier to go fast in as it does everything for you just plant the foot, although the manual is the true drivers car, it'll definately be quicker with the correct gear shifts! Jezz
When the auto changes gear your foot is still on the throttle hence no dump. It doesnt need to dump unless you lift off.
Fifty
So if you are in manual mode it will dump; actually I have never tried to hear it -radio 2 y'know lol:d Rich

pistonbroke
Erm, well mine dumps between changes, I can still hear it at 120MPH so its definitley audible.
Paul_SWZ
It would also depend on how your dump valves are set up and what psi they release at ! Autos dont dump between gear changes because the power is always on unless you take your foot off. Tis true auto's should be quicker but as someone said its due to loss of power through the torque converter/drivetrain
letmeshowyou
if I absolutely floor mine from a standing start you can hear it between the first and second gear change, otherwise you need to let off to really get the effect.
Guest mk47
speaking of dumpvalves i have a video of a supra with a really nice sounding dump valve, my putfile doesent work so wondering if someone can host it for me so i acn find out which one it is? hadyn
Dont any of you drive properly? My old HKS SSQV equipped tt auto used to make quite loud dumps between gear changes when I had the foot to the floor
leelbuk
if I absolutely floor mine from a standing start you can hear it between the first and second gear change, otherwise you need to let off to really get the effect. Mine too thought something was wrong with it! Why, when on the second turbo and you let of the throttle quickly do you only get a small short dump? If boosting hard on 2nd turbo I only get a large dump if I let off the throttle a bit gentler?
Jim_1979
Well I'm getting my dump valve fitted monday, so will see what it's like on my Auto. Finally people where I live will think it's a TT ... everyone thinks it's a n/a for some reason!! ... lmao.
Daston
Finally people where I live will think it's a TT ... everyone thinks it's a n/a for some reason!! ... lmao. JohnA
Mine is totally quiet, irrespective of boost levels, gear changes or throttle position. Is it broken? Is it gay? Is it n/a? Please advise
