Guru
Local Toyota (Blackburn) garage failed my Supe tonight on emissions. BPU withoput the cats in and she failed on that and front tyres. Gonna get her retested with the one cat in and pray she passes. Any reccomendations on decent tyres before I use the search button?

wkdtime
Ask them what data they used for the Emissions? State its not a UK spec...Did they use your VIN?
Ian R
Ask them what data they used for the Emissions? State its not a UK spec...Did they use your VIN? Good point as J-spec cars before '95 don't require cats AFAIK
Guru
On the paperwork they have the VIN so I guess they used it. The CO limit they used was 0.30% max at fast idle if that helps (I scored 0.71%). I have the Bridgestone Potenza RE-01's which aren't that bad but nothing to compare to really
Paul_SWZ
I wouldnt take it to a main dealer if I was you just find a specialist that might let the emmisions slide a little LOL I know A good man in somerset LOL
Need4Speed
I have the Bridgestone Potenza RE-01's I had these and rate them as poor. They haven't made them for some time. As far as your MOT is concerned, 1 cat should pass no problem.
Simon
What we need is to know of Supra friendly MOT stations. Mines a 93 JDM and failed because it didn't have a cat fitted and also emissions. The new system requires the tester to input the engine model from the vin plate. 2jz-gte. This will bring up uk specs and there is no arguement with them about this, trust me I tried. Need4Speed
Alternatively, just make your cars road legal!
