veilside spoiler off

Hey guys

Noticed the weirdest thing today, came back from a drive and the rear veilside spoiler was literall hanging off away from the car, only the last half of it was keeping it on the car.

Obviously this wasnt safe so i decided to take if off which was with relatively easy, im just wondering what caused it to loosen to the point of a safety hazard even/

I have recently isntalled 2 type r's, my spoiler was a tad loose when i first got, is it possible that all the bass has somehow caused the screws to slowly over time loosen and hence cause the slighlty loose spoiler to become one that was struggling to stay on.

ANyway now the spoiler is off, the spoilerless look has sort of taken my interest.

Looks very classy

anyway can any garage refit the spoiler or shud i take it to a specialist, anywhere recommended in glasgow area.

cheers

There are only 4 bolts that hold the spoiler on! You will need the absolute minimum of mechanical skill to re-fit this yourself (if nothing's broken) to save paying a garage.

Use Loctite if you are worried it might happen again. ;)

they seem to screw from underneath, do i get to this from the boot by taking a few of panels off, is loctite glue which will keep the spoiler fixed to it for good, this would be a good idea i think as the bass does give a good thump

Yep pull the plastic cover off (it just clips in, try not to break the clips) and when that's off you'll see 2 10mm bolts on the left and right. Whip them off and burn the spoiler, job's a goodun :D

im really thinkin gof taking it off now and the rear view is a big difference with and without spoiler too, how easy wud it be to get the holed filled up, will i have to get the whole back bit resprayed or be ok just getting them to use tocuh up paint etc

does look a lot classier without it and i think it'd look better for when i start my graduate job next month, how much does a veisilder spoiler go for these days if i sold it lol

tell me more than a picnic table at least hehe

Also useful for the following:

Bench at the end of the garden to sit on and admire the wildlife,

Attach to the front of another car and use as a snow plough,

Workbench,

Weights bench....The list is endless.

I think it was divine intervention.

Yup, an act of God or some other supreme being, who believes that the Veilside wing is not a wing, but a table, a very big table, a very big ugly table, a very big ugly table that can double as a small boat.
