The hidden brother hood of Jap super cars?

Parked the Sup outside my brothers place the other day. Theres a guy there with an moded R33 (i think), you know loads of logos everywhere that kind of thing. Anyway he likes to strut his stuff around the building with his arm hanging out the side etc.... When he rolled up, a few of the locals were looking at my Sup and ignored him, in the end he pulled up alongside took off his shades and spent about 10 mins looking at my car.

Eventually I came out and we spent the next 15mins talking about how great import cars are. Definately some mutual understanding and respect there!!

I've had a few friendly words with Skyline and Subaru owners, but very rarely. A certain age / mentality of owner I think....those with a broad respect for all Jap performance cars. Never got the nod from an Evo owner. Theres a Skyline owner and a couple of Evo owners at work (not in my office) who are not what I'd call chatty...quite the opposite, which I find odd. Is it me or is it the Supra, AIIGAF:p.

Quite a few Supra owners Ive waved at dont wave back either, and I know theve seen me.

Evo and Impreza drivers always seem to be out to prove something (usually that they have a wikkid dump valwv) but I find Skyline chaps tend to be the best, always keen to let you out at a junction or moving over to let you past on the motorway ;)

There is a guy in Morley, owns a Celica with drainpipe exhaust. I used to let him out of his driveway every morning. Never a wave, nod or owt. So I stopped. The guy pulled out in front of me two days later.

Obviously thought I was going to let him out. He called me a few choice words but now drives up to Tingley fisheries to turn around.

Brotherhood my arse.

I gt snotty lookd from the 1000000 Imprezas around Southampton, some respect from Celicas, and a lot from kids wholive where I work! (not sure what to make of that???)

I'm swapping my car for my Dad's original 240 K GT Skyline. Wonder if I'll still get the same reactions?

All scummers from that place, aren't they?;)

I'm told they are pure scum.

When you moving out this way?

I was on the prowl over your side at the weekend, the problem is that all the houses I like are £1,000,000+ and I feel the need to lock the car doors in the places I can afford to live ;)

They are fairly costly the houses around here. For the benefit of anyone who thinks they might be able to tap me for a loan I should add that I rent.

Michael, what about renting around here. There are a few available but you have to be really quick.

:( Well that was short and sweet...or you just a jolly japer ?

No, honest. He had it from 1979-1991 then scrapped it.Went to buy another in about 1996 and his was in the guys back garden. So he spent a few years sacrificing the one he went to buy on it, et voila! He's sorting the oil leak and a/c on the Supra for me so i'll have it for the interim. She's lovely too, no pics here tho...

I have been waved at by a fellow Supra owner before and not waved back, only because by the time i've realised he's waved at me we're long past each other so I wouldn't assume it's out of ignorance that someone doesn't wave back at you.

I had a lovely RX7 holding up a queue to let me in recently. And had waves from other rexs, mkiiis, Celicas, 300ZXs and GTOs. Don't recall any acknowledgement from Evos or Scoobies and Skyline drivers tend to look straight ahead (they know which car's better looking!)

:looney:

I have to admit since getting an RX7 I've had people come up and talk to me whilst filling up at the petrol station and stuff like that. I've flashed /waved at other RX7 owners when I see them but I'm a bit blind on the road as far as what sort of car is driving past :) I just notice it's a car.

But as other peeps have said, I'm more than happy to let others out with Supras, Skylines etc. Imprezas are too affordable now so you get some right idiots in them.
