Steviekid
On the way down to JAE on Friday night I finally pulled over wondering why everyone was flashing me as I went past. Discovered I had no tail lights (not ideal on the motorway in the dark with a black car ). The fuse in the footwell had gone but when I replaced it (with a 15A one) it just blew straight away again. I've still got reverse and brake lights though. Will this be a bad earth? Has anyone got any suggestions on where to start looking for the problem? wkdtime
Ouch....Electrics is the most annoying of them all, TBH i'd take the rear talights off first and have a look at the connection and wiring to make sure theres no short circuit. Good luck fella:)
Steviekid
Just discovered I don't have front sidelights either, do these use the same fuse? It's only marked as "tail" on the fuse box cover.
Steviekid
Never mind, I've got it sorted.

Steviekid
What was it ??? I don't know! Checked all the rear bulbs and wiring again (I did the fog light conversion over a year ago) and all seemed ok. Did the same with the front sidelights because there's a bit of extra wiring where I fitted facelift indicators a while back too. Didn't find anything obvious so tried a new fuse with the sidelight plugs disconnected and it didn't blow. Connected everything back up and it still didn't blow! At least it's working now

Soop Dogg
Sidelights and tail lights are on the same circuit. If you think about it, they should be. When you turn on your sidelights, that's when you need the taillights to light up too. If your taillights ever stop working, your front sidelights are the first thing check.
