garetheves
Will an AFR sensor fit in the boss of an EGT sensor on the exhaust or not??
JohnA
It depends. But even if the thread fits, will the location be appropriate?
Jake
You want it further away from the turbo. About 30" inches away I think is the recommeded. Mines in the 2nd decat pipe, roughly under the handbrake. Makes routing the cable into the cabin easy that way too as there's a rubber grommit on the passenger side of the transmission tunnel. garetheves
My EGT sensor was just before the start of the 2nd De-cat a few inches in front of the handbrake. Only a few inches in it (she said...).
gledo1970
EGT fittings are normal 1/8th npt thread and a lot smaller than wide band sensors fittings which i think its around 1/2 npt/12mm. you can get the weld on fitting or tap out the flanges to suit. Fat lot of use it was there! Yeah then, put your AFR probe there if it'll fit. No point having the EGT probe that far back.
