Chris Wilson
I was having a meal with my auto box guru pal and we discussed Supra Aisin Warner auto boxes. As a result it may be possible for me to offer a service whereby good auto boxes can be upgraded with heavy duty clutch friction plates and steel plates, and a re engineered valve body to give greater line pressure for less slippage giving higher torque handling capacities. I could off modded torque convertors, too, on an exchange basis, but would probably just farm this out to a rebuilder either here or in the US. Gearbox mods would be done in house though. Any interest? Worth me getting soem pricings? These boxes would NOT carry a normal warrenty as they are, by nature, being used way over their design limits, and the basic unit being upgraded would not be new, either. Both UK and J-Spec boxes should be OK for upgrading.
Darren
Surely it couldn't hurt to get some/work out prices!
Tannhauser
Could well be interested in a few months - depending on my financial health after the current mods.

JamesG
I'd be interested in knowing some prices too. It's something I may consider in the future. James.

MONKEYmark
any ideas on how much power they could handle.
dude
Hi-stall converters are not based on a stock unit AFAIK they are a lot smaller , how small depends on the Rough stall speed desired which again depends on the weight of the car and how much and where it makes it torque Dude:flame Dev

Chris Wilson
I'll try and price the parts up next week. My pal is gettng part numbers for me over the weekend. If anyone has a duff auto box valve body I could start an exchange scheme for those and have them modded and ultrasonically cleaned, on the shelf. Then it would be just a valve body swap and change the clutch packs. Obviously I'd pay for a valve body or a duff gearbox.
Supraguy
Definitely interested as well Chris.
roscodav
I have a wee bit of a slippage problem, when using kickdown from about 2-3k and it shoots into the high rpms, often i get what i imaging as the clutch slippping (of equiv). I have done all the fluid changes etc but still got the problem. would be very interested if it would sort that.

dude
"Boost Logic MKIV TT Auto Upgraded Transmission This transmission was tested and developed on BoostLogic’s 9 sec@142mph daily driven street Supra. This transmission has been tested for over 25,000 miles and counting, as the Supra it was tested on is a daily driver. More than 40 low 10 second passes have been made on this transmission and it still drives like the day it was put in. It shifts FIRMLY and INSTANTLY. It doesn’t shift too hard to daily drive but will HOLD the power at the track. Many cars have been using this transmission and are loving it. The price of this transmission does not do justice to the level of performance this transmission puts out. The transmission is half the price compared to other competitors and is PROVEN to run 9's in the 1/4 mile" If anyone is interested I will get costs for the Boostlogic autobox? __________________ Regards Terry Purple MKIV BPU if you hadnt guessed this is the daddy of transmissions , have a look on supraforums and see the opinions , and its CHEAP:D Dude:flame Dev
