spackrackman
I just bought an RSR exhaust 3" and by accident bought 2.5" decat pipes. My car is a UK spec, I am going BPU with boost controller etc.. does it matter that I have 2.5" decats in.. I am I going to loose any power or create more heat, I have been told not.. but I just wanted piece of mind before I made these decat pipes second hand by fitting them. Cheers

Cheers Absolutely not, 2.5inch is perfect for BPU, that’s the same combo I have on mine and there's defiantly no problem with exhaust flow. UK/Jspec makes no difference

UK/Jspec makes no difference Thanks for that. Seeing that I AM spending a fair bit of money I want to do it right 1st time.. Better get it all fitted then! wkdtime
2.5" is perfect for BPU on UK or J Spec, alot will vouch on here and say it wont make much of a difference if you go for 3" or 2.5" decat pipes, what you may find is the turbos may spool up a little sooner with the 3" Decat pipes but not a great deal more. You won't regret it! The pipes and RSR will make a bit of difference, but the boost controller will allow 1.1 bar+ (thats when you get the real WOW factor ) Edit to add - you do know the other stuff you need to do right? E.g fuel filter, service, plugs, fuel pump (advisable if older than 10 yrs), IC check...

Yes, with help from traders on here, I have my sbc color boost controller, an fdc, my cooler plugs, a walbro pump(but I keep reading that the stock one actually is better and quieter) just been serviced but do need to check my IC. Car is a 1996, 30k car. Thinking of trying to book in with a trader to get it all fitted at once as I want a EGT and a fuel mixture dial fitting to. I am VERY much lookign forward to it.
