Guest mk47
i have a program called totalrecorder - basically with this i can re-record something im listening to on media player and lower the quality to make the filesize smaller (i.e. for background music on a website etc) but its stopped working now - is there any other suggestions as to another program that does the same thing? thanks
Jake
Do you need it to be able able to capture streaming audio? If so: Sound Forge Otherwise there's loads of things. CoolEdit Pro is quite good.

Not streaming as such just music from media player running off cds etc. do either of those give you the option to change the format? i.e. from Mp3 -> Wav etc.
Jake
There's a hundred apps that can convert from one audio format to another. Take your pick. When you say TotalRecorder has stopped working what do you mean? Has it broken or has your free trial expired?

Its a free trial thats expired - used to have it before aswell but cracks.am does not have the crack for the new version any more, and cant find the older one which imo was the best one id used. And anyway with the total recorder trial it kept playing a nasty sound every minute for a good 3-4 secs while recording.
Clarkey
Here's a wild stab in the dark .. but What about uninstalling it and then go into your Windows registry and remove all the entries relating to TotalRecorder. Might be an idea to back your registry up before hacking it. Would that work ?- so that Windoze nolonger has any knowledge of it being installed. So, you can then re-install it .. and you get the free trial again.
