Well, when we were spending money hand over fist, we could easily rack up £200 a week on food, and half of that went in the bin because we'd get takeaways.

 

Now I'm 18 stone, I wonder if there's a connection:blink:

I'd love to have 300 left after bills and stuff. Jeez. As it is I'm needing new trousers for work but I'm using the money for petrol to JAE.

 

That's how hard up I am at the moment.

 

i've been wearing the same "work shoes" for past 5 years :blush: they are still almost new :sly:

put your credit cards in a bowl of water and freeze them, then if you have an impulse to buy something you have to wait for the ice to melt and by that time the impulse has gone.

 

That's the best idea I've heard for stopping impulse buys :thumbs:

Mikes top money saving tips

 

1) keep a penny pot and any lose change goes in it

2) make your own lunch

3) walk/bike as much as possible rahter than driving

4) buy tea bags and milk for work....dont buy costas/neros coffee everyday, treat yourself once in a while though

5) limit takeaways

 

im sure you can think of more......sounds really stupid but trust me it all adds up
