Steve W2
Was quite surprised to find that after changing from my Nur spec R back to the standard exhaust that my fuel consumption now seems to be better by about 20-30 miles on average. This has been consistent over the last 4 fill ups using the smae petrol:conf: Also noticed that the car is a little less willing to kickdown (Auto) than when the Nur was on. Must be due to the lower back pressure?
toyotasuprauk
That's interesting, does any one know if removing the cats on a non turbo and turbo car increases or decreases fuel economy?
Steve W2
It will beacuse you would be running a higher boost pressure which means more fuel:)
toyotasuprauk
Ok that makes sense, what about on the non turbo?

I would stilll think so but to a lesser extent. All of these parts are performance upgrades to an extent, you may not feel any quicker but you are supposedly extracting a few extra ponies, and them ponies need a drink:p If the engine is taking air in quicker and pushing the gases out quicker you can get more through = worse consumption. All IMO of course.
