Hello everyone, I wonder if someone can help me? I have purchased a Toyota Supra 1994 automatic Jap Import, my problem is is that even though somehow it has an MOT it does not have a horn I have opened up the steering wheel and found that the airbag is gone and also the horn connection has been cut. My question is what do i need to do i thought i could simply order a momo steering wheel boss kit suitable for an airbag wheel but i have been told this is not true the horn does work from the front of the car but i will have to trace wires through i think its this thing with the steering that i dont understand. Thankyou in advance.

sorry to hear this Paula. i'm assuming you didn't buy it from a dealer then?

you'll either need to get a new airbag wheel (not cheap) or a replacement wheel without the bag and just reconnect the horn.

i'd be wondering why the airbag is missing though if it definitely had on to begin with...

It is a little difficult from your question to give you an answer, can you post a pic of the cut horn connection, as it may help to see what the problem is.

You can get a boss for the Supra to fit a Momo steering wheel and it should be an easy job to locate the wires for the horn and connect up.

If it was my car I would check if airbag sensors are installed, to determine if the car was fitted with an airbag from the factory. If it does I would fit either a second hand airbag steering wheel or a new TRD steering wheel which includes an airbag (I have one in stock at the moment see details and pics HERE).

As an aside, I would also check for any accident repair, if the car was installed with an airbag originally, then there will be a reason why it is no longer there.

Hi Paula,

Not sure if airbags were fitted on a 1994 import. I had a bit of a problem with mine as well - although it had the Airbag Contact Reel intact it never had an airbag fitted. It was as if they had intended to fit an airbag wheel , but never got around to it.

I had to desolder the A.C.R in order to get a Momo Boss to fit

Cheers

Ian
