Jake
Would fitting lowering springs mess up the suspension geometry? I'm interested in getting the car lowered a few inches but I don't want to provoke uneven tyre wear. What is considered a resonable drop? Any recommendations for which springs to buy? Thanks -- Jake '94 JDM Auto TT
michael
If you add springs you should really get a full alignment done anyway so it shouldn't be an issue for you. Eibach seem highly regarded, I think they take you down about 30mm and Chris Wilson does a set of custom springs that are supposed to be matched to the standard dampers (I think?). If the tyre wear was ok before why would taking the suspension leg off, fitting new spring, then refitting, affect it? That's what, inch and a quarter? Hardly seems worth it.

How highs the Supra at the lowerest point? 3" maybe at a guess. So that's a third off the ride height and it's not worth it! I think you might be surprised how much difference that 30mm will make, especially on bumby Portsmouth roads!

Thanks -- Jake '94 JDM Auto TT Change in ride height = change in geometry "A few inches"??? That will totally knacker the handling, never drop more than about 25 mm, 30 mm max. I sell various springs, but ideally you need to match the spring to the damper rate. I do matched suspension sets, too, for 1200 quid, fitted. if you just lower without resetting geo you will have very bad inside edge tyre wear. Billy
I have just had Chris Wilson’s set up fitted it is just superb Cheers Chris it feels like a completely different car turn in is just great and on long high speed corners the car feels planted to the road its also a much nicer ride at low speed round town it lowers the car just enough to get all the benefits without grounding issues truly a great mod twelve hundred quid well spent
