SupraStar 3000
Been to both Farnborough and Fairford RIAT. Farnborough has both civilian and military aircraft. both public and corporate business/industry/profile making bla bla bla... Fairford RIAT is more military aircraft based for the public. (I saw two mig 29s crash here on year)
supRo
I'm working for Diners Club at the moment and living in the Town center. Nothing to do around here! They are knocking down half the Town Center for a new shopping center. Not as bad as Aldershot though!!

edd_t
Oh I love the Farnborough Air Show. damn expensive tickets this year though! A few years back i was working right next to the base, building tennis courts and it was mad the ammount of wicked planes i saw going past. i remember a transport plane taking off (CC130 hercules I think) it was soooo BIG it looked like you could reach up and touch it. Jspec Germany
C130s are small. C-5s are huge, along with the An-225.

(that'll teach me not to do a google image search!) ok, well this was MASSIVE. i remember the undercarriage having 2 rows of 8-10 wheels each side! and it made a sound like the earth was going to end

Were they jet or turboprop? flippin eck we're talking about 8 years ago here! erm, was defiantly a light colour, no camoflage (atleast underneath, but then that goes for most doesnt it) am sure it was 4 engines and jet. Charlotte
I'm from Farnham so we used to go to the airshow every year. Love it. And I used to work for Sun on the business park just next to the runway so saw lots of cool looking planes.
sarjo
I'm going to Fairford tomorrow. Not looking forward to it, wished I hadnt pre-booked tickets now. Its going to be too hot and I would much rather be here in Devon out on the boat than stuck sat in some field watching some planes go by. SupraStar 3000
I had a C130 drop off Royal Marines for a parachute exercise whilst having a flying lesson at bournemouth airport. Flying a cessna and having a hercules pilot instruct me to stay on my current heading whilst the marines jumped from the back was cool. Even my instructor thought so! Even my instructor thought so! man that sounds wicked! was with my dad in his Cessna 172 once. spotted an old US bomber. radio'd in and was aloud to come alongside. I was about 12 at the time, one of the coolest things i can ever remember. it had the 1940/50's type lady on the side and everything.
