scary stuff. used to live in a 'officialy haunted house' it really plays on your mind.

My Nanna and Grandad used to own a haunted house in Scarborough... the temperature use to drop really quickly in the living room, and my grandad was there once, on his own, doing some work in the bathroom and a loud voice told him to 'get out'...

They were total sceptics for years but after the last incident they decided to sell... it was a huge house for what they paid for it.. They had it for about four or five years.. we used to spend weekends there when we were kids (we didn't know it was haunted until much later) but we didn't see anything.. and we use to sleep in the creepiest room in the house.. the attic room..

Anyone heard the urban legend about police being called by people who'd seen a car go off the road into some trees...they turned up and searched but there were no signs of a recent crash. Eventually though, they spotted a rusty wreck of a car with a decomposed body in it, obviously been there for a few years......

In my sisters old house her two children oftened asked "who is/was that man?" My neice saw him first. She looked over my sisters shoulder and asked who the man was. My sister looked around and saw no-one. My neice, who was about four, said a man was standing by the living room door.

My nephew also saw him at the top of the stairs and in the doorway of the master bedroom.

Scariest moment was when a toy train that was switched off and laying on the master bed, came on and when my sis went to look it was moving on the carpet.

Turned out that the previous owner died in that room of cancer (iirc). He was also the father of one of my sisters friends (unknown to her at the time) and was harmless and loved kids.

My sis always apologised when she was getting undressed after that.
