montezumola
Hi guys, Previous to the Blitz Dual SBC Controller install my boost pressure has been rock steady at 1.0-1.05Bar. Had the unit installed by a Tuning company near to my workplace and they followed the instructions as printed on the MKiv.com site (http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/blitz_dsbc/index.html) Well, thought I'd take the car out and try some settings ... With the controller set to OFF I did a couple of WOT sprints and the unit was registering peak boost of between 1.28 - 1.42 Bar! (I then looked at the boost gauge and it looked to be in the 1.3 bar zone, so the readings are accurate) Scramble boost is set to OFF. It should only be hitting 1Bar! :-( Any ideas? I've noticed alot of peeps have this controller, surely somebody out there has experienced this! Thanks in advance ...
michael
What's the gain set at? (These have gain don't they?)
montezumola
From what I can gather the gain is only set when one of the presets are selected. OFF effectively means 'stock', although mine has been boosting to 1Bar since getting a new CW SMIC (last month). Hapless and confused .... michael
Do you have a restrictor ring?
montezumola
Yep, a CW 1.2bar ring - but since the new SMIC was put on boost has dropped to 1.0Bar, hence the boost controller.
Jake
... edit Nevermind, I see you already answered my question in the first post - sorry
letmeshowyou
have you checked they connected all of the pipework securely? (and blocked off the bottom of the wastegate actuator properly too?)
montezumola
Hiya mate - I've looked at the bottom of the wastegate actuator and its securely closed. Basically they followed everything said in the mkiv.com instructions - most confusing?
letmeshowyou
In which case my other suspects would be the pipes to and from the solenoid and where they join the car...
