Jake
Syd Barrett Actually I'd never heard of him until today. I might see if I can find any of his albums and have a listen. Are his solo efforts any good? Edit: Blimey he's got quite Wiki entry for someone I've never heard of: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sid_Barrett
Terminator
founder member of the worlds greatest rock band pink floyd , died last friday . shine on you crazy diamond I just heard this too. I remember listening to The Mad Cap Laughs a few months back. He certainly started a timeless legend. I wonder if this will prompt the band to do one last tribute album, I would pay anthing to see that live. Now there really is no pain. RIP Syd

Jake
http://www.radiotimes.com/ListingsServlet?event=10&channelId=107&programmeId=46424058&jspLocation=/jsp/prog_details.jsp Omnibus: a Tribute to Syd Barrett - Crazy Diamond 11:20pm - 12:10am BBC2 Since the early 1970s, the rock world has mourned the loss of musical genius Syd Barrett. Not because he died then, but because he laid down his guitar and became a recluse after a lengthy and devastating drug-induced breakdown. A founding member of Pink Floyd, Syd parted company with the band in 1968 once they had tasted some success, and only made two solo albums after that. This poignant documentary, in which friends and colleagues, including Floyd member Roger Waters, tell the story of Syd's tragic decline, was first shown in 2001. Sadly, it's being reshown because now we really have lost Syd: he died earlier this month.
