Scoboblio
I have only ever used my Visa card to pay for petrol once - all other times I've used it have been over the internet, or I never let it out of my sight. A couple of weeks ago I filled up at; LEICESTER FOREST EAST Leicester Forest East N/bound M1 M/way Svc Area, Hinckley Rd, Northside LEICESTER FOREST EAST Leicestershire, LE3 3GB Very shortly after this my credit card details were stolen and it was used (unsuccessfully) several times before the bank automatically cancelled it. The attempts were unsuccessful because they didn't have the security code (which anyone snooping on the internet would). Hmmm, co-incidence? Darren-K
did the person at the petrol station drop your card, or bend down for a second at all ?
Scoboblio
did the person at the petrol station drop your card, or bend down for a second at all ? I can't remember now Maybe I'm being too hasty, but does seem very suspicious, never let it out of my sight normally.
carl0s
You know Shell have stopped taking chip and pin for this reason. Apparently it's to do with their particular setup, but some service station owners were able to steal card details with the chip and pin setup they had, so they're back to signatures for the time being. Guest mk47
yeah leicester forest east services lol thats near me. i know of a bp on groby road where the guy used to steal peoples credit card details through the actual chip and pin unit, what happened was 2 receipts would print off, 1 for the customer and 1 for bp, which clearly shows all the details on the front of the card except the name and the security number on the rear. but that the person can just memorise till youve left and write it down. gotta be careful!! my bro had the same thing happen to him.
