RedM
Heading toward Immingham in Lincs. It was followed, very closely, by a police BMW. I was doing 70 exactly and they flew by. Without blue and twos on but as they hold all the Aces I wasn't going to catch up and argue the toss with them. Thought about it though...... Guest gzaerojon
thats something i've never understood, i do lot of motorway driving and see this a lot, surely if they drive over the limit it can only be in the event of an emergency and must have the blues on?? TLicense
Nope not the case IIRC. I think Class one cleared this up for us some time ago. Not sure what the thread was about, but I remember it being mentioned. Perhaps if you pm him, he may remind us of exactly what the regs are with regard to this. Class One
pursuit training? Possibly, or just high speed convoy driving. Ie getting used to following closely at high speed before the pursuit element is started.
chris aka fonz
I thought police had to travell above or below motorway speed limit so they didnt cause bunching !
Sandy-m2
These two cars were on tv last night. the are the new high speed police unit and dog team. Two high powerd(ish) cars one with a dog in the back to catch you when you jump out the car and run.
Bobbeh
I thought police had to travell above or below motorway speed limit so they didnt cause bunching ! They do what they like. I saw a navy blue Legacy in Herts, but at least he had his lights on.. I let him go by as any good citizen would.. but I was tempted to give chase.. damn I should have been a traffic cop Tell a lie, it was Subaru Legacy Sports Tourer. C5 SUP
The police in Hull / Humberside have two marked Impreza's and a Black one. For some reason the marked ones do look nice. Heard a rumor that they were going to get evo 8's but they didn't handle as well as the Subaru's. Having said that they had some of the older Impreza's before that and before that an Escort Cosworth, now that was a nice car or at least thats what I thought when I was 15ish. Yet the area is still apparently one of the worst places to get your car nicked.... amongst other things.

Oh they have more than one unmarked Impreza They did have two unmarked Evo's based out of Hessle (Vehicle Crime Unit), may not have those now. Had quite a few cars on loan before they decided on those evo's, including an MG ZT V8. The reason the Impreza's were chosen as the main pursuit cars though was that in the event of a front end impact it was cheaper to repair than the Evo (due to the Impreza having the intercooler on top of the engine). The cossie is going back a few years now but was pretty mental at the time, it had been played with a bit Yet the area is still apparently one of the worst places to get your car nicked.... amongst other things. Indeed, but a lot of them get caught (I think percentage wise Humberside are one of the best in the country at catching them). Most of the vehicle crime unit lot are good lads though, and a lot of car nuts themselves. If you get stopped for speeding, be humble and don't try to bullshit, it won't work
