Scoboblio
Together it's the mail and the sun that are much to blame for forming the intolerant, repressive, hysterical (not 'funny' hysterical) and paranoid nature of our society today. I hate the Sun, Mirror and any other newspaper that uses sensationalist crap to whip up public fear or hatred to sell papers. I remember a Sun headline during the fireman's strike a few years ago, a house had caught fire and someone died inside... everyone (professional) agreed that even if the fire service had attended instead of the green godesses the person wouldn't have stood a chance. The headline was HOW MANY MORE MUST DIE?. That was the day I completely lost patience with them. They force their side of the story onto people who are stupid enough to believe them. Remember the last election? IIRC the major parties agreed that the headlines on the Mirror and Sun had more influence over the result than all the previous campaigning. IMO they don't report news - they report "stories". The scary thing is, people believe them.
Kittyclaws
I thought we were boycotting "The Sun" too:innocent: I think we are about to boycott everything,
MrHanky
with holes in so what papers does everybody else read? JB I used to get the Telegraph on Wednesdays, but that was only to get the weekly transfer password for the Fantasy football. Fortunately some nice people now put this on the internet so I no longer have to buy any papers. I too believe that there is no point in buying papers anymore as the internet has just about everything on it. Mark
Green Peace
I have short arms and bad eyesight, I cant read the telegraph JB lol...know what you mean, never understood the concept of a packed train years ago and everyone reading large newspapers..far more annoying than mobile phones. I used to laugh at people that read the Financial Times...i found it so offensive though...only because if you sat next to them you were forced to read it as well, thus resulting in falling asleep, and missing your stop!
