garethr
All sorts of cat hybrids have been created, either accidentally or deliberately Bengal (domestic) cats originated as a hybrid between a domestic cat and a wild leopard cat (NOT a leopard ) http://www.lairweb.org.nz/tiger/hybrids.html http://www.messybeast.com/genetics/hybrid-cats.htm

Ark
REALLY fecking huge! Afaik this is the first one ever, so only been around a few years. Another case of humans playing God with genetics. It's not "playing God with genetics", it's just cross-breeding, same as has been done with domestic dogs (mongrels), and sheep, and cows for hundreds of years. Do you really think Cows would be as big, tasty and highly milk-productive if it hadn't been for selective breeding?
Guest mk47
an adult liger weighs upto 900kgs and can grow upto 12 feet tall

Jake
Yeah, Ligers are amazing! I couldn't believe it when I first saw a pic of one. I thought it was fake at first, until I read up on them. I think Tigons are the other extreme, much smaller than a normal Tiger or Lion. As someone else mentioned, Ligers only happen because humans have brought the two different animals together. In nature they would never breed or meet because they are from different continents.
Guest mk47
id like to see one of those at a zoo/safari park. all the pics ive seen theres people riding one or hugging it and posing next to it, it seems as though theyre very tame and human-friendly. stupra
They're friendly, but the killer instinct is still there, like all "wild" animals that are bred in a human enviroment, they've only gotta get a little excited, or be in the wrong kinda mood, an its by by head, arm or leg !. The big cat family are beautiful though, an these liger's are bloody huge !.
