To stop the car flexing under hard acceleration etc. Im sure they do, I guess thats why Targa tops were created... best of both worlds. Correct me if im wrong tho. Michel, i believe there is extra bracing in the aerotop chassis rail too. maybe worth looking into as with the power your car is putting down, you are going to have to reduce chassis movement as much as possible.
