Autobox sump. Pics?

Had the car up on a ramp today and saw something that appears to be leaking fluid.

From the back of the car looking towards the front, just past where the stock TT exhaust pipes meet (between 2nd cat and split for the two silencers) is an oblong box shape, off to the side.

Looks like a sump of some kind. Is it for the autobox? Looks like a gasket might have gone. Fluid is well up though?

Thoughts?

not heard of many/any gearbox fluid leaks.

I'd try and identify the actual fluid, it could be engine oil from a minor leak somewhere. The natural airflow when driving forces it all back along the greabox sump and onto the exhaust (obviously the fluid gets burnt off of there!)

Did you have a good look at the underside of the engine with the undertray removed?

I guess it was kind darkish but didn't really smell.

TBH it seemed a lot like, hmm, you know how gunk seems to build up in the engine bay in places that get blasted by the weather? Front facing usually. Well it was like that.

I thought it would have dried off by now though if it was water/dirt.
