PSP Downdater 2.5/2.6

Has anyone tried this yet? I'm thinking of trying it, but for two hurdles.

 

1) I don't have GTA Liberty City Stories - does anyone know whether recent versions have been "patched" to plug the security hole required for eloader.

2) Where can I find the required 1.5 firmware - I would try bittorrent but since the fall of piratebay I don't know of any decent lists of torrents

 

I believe the firmware security hole currently being exploited only exists in 2.5 and 2.6 firmware, I guess this means that I'll have to upgrade from my current 2.01 first before downgrading to 1.5.

 

I'm not usually paranoid about flashing firmware, but I've seen a lot of reports of bricks would appreciate any success stories from members.

I'm not 100% certain what I say will be correct, so please stop reading now.

I've also got the 2.01fw at the moment and I think you are correct in saying that we've gotta upgrade to 2.5/2.6 before downgrading.

 

GTA-LS has been patched with the latest versions. If you check the fw upgrade on the disk. The originals had 2.00 on them, the new ones have 2.6. With the 2.6 ones the saved game exploit has been plugged.

 

Getting the 1.5 downgrader and the 2.5 one, goto psp-hacks.com.

 

Let me know how it goes and I might try it.

 

On a plus note, I'm now playing Monkey Island on my PSP now.. Brings back memories..
