Suprasteve
at santapod retro day. how cool ! however, they did not disappear and leave flames as tyre marks down the strip at 88 mph because they were so slow they didn't even get to 88 mph !!! most disappointing. I think one of them done it in something ridiculous like 21 seconds at 70 mph. pic attached

Guest AlxRSPTT
lol that some serious speed. lol jk. Its rare to see even one these days. I also saw 2 the other day, but one had this chamealeon type candy paint on it. it looked good and you could still see the metal underneath. Feakins
Loads of old bangers, some nice ones tho. And the que for the strip was soo long at one point because a couple of cars blew up! Got 4 runs out of my unlimted pass.

It's a common "gents" agreement they have otherwise they would have been running quater miles in -20yrs. It gets a little boring when they finish the race back when you were
Suprasteve
Steve, was it a good day? I considered going to this but couldnt decide! it was nothing compared to a Jap show but as we had free tickets and nothing else to do that day we thought why not. as already said there were loads of old kack going down the strip i.e. 5 door puntos, everyday fiestas etc doing 19+ secs. However, there were some mint condition old skool stuff that was very impressive especially an old fully loaded Granada 328i with a huuuuuge turbo on it which run mid 10s ! along with some beetles and mki escorts etc... I got a lift in a mates car but when i was there i wished i'd brought the supra cos i'd been one of the fastest road cars there on the day:p . It was good to see a couple of supras running on the day even tho they stood out like a sore thumb compared to the retro cars running. overall a bit bored waiting for the tracks to be cleaned every half hour cos of the amount of spilt oil (a few cars almost lost it by going sideways near the finish line and almost crossing into the next lane!) but never the less it was a good sunny day out oh yeah and some Muppet in a Capri done a line lock burn out on the start line and got a complete roasting by the commentator for damaging the track. Bondy
Nice to see that you didn't mention the MKiii Supra's that were there and the one that run at 108.99mph. The granada thats mentioned in this thread was running a supercharged chevy engine and had terminal speeds of 140mph + But when speaking to the guy about the specs he didn't have a clue (Cheque book car)

Yep the 2nd pic is me. Didn't do any good times really, best was 14.6 with 0.501 second reaction time! Quite a slippery strip, even got a slight bit of wheelspin when changing in to forth. No problem, we all had a great day, still rubbing after sun into my poor back The red one with the body kit is running a 5.7Ltr Chevy, so it doesn't really count , it was the first time he had run it up the strip so his fueling was all out, totally built by himself and all mods and fitting carried out in his own garage (engineer by trade) He's fitted NOS but as yet hasn't tried it ???
