dangerous brain
Anyone know anything about the mark 3? I have seen pictures of some rather nice looking aerotop mk3's about. Anyone know anything about their availablity model types etc?
Scooter
I think you can get them with the UK type 3.0L turbo, the 2.0L TT and the 2.5TT (soarers engine) their availablilty is quite low over here i think, but i suspect Jurgen etc could import one easily enough? GeordieSteve
Wouldn't bother mate. Expect hundreds of problems. I've had 2 now and regret them both
garethr
Wouldn't bother mate. Expect hundreds of problems. I've had 2 now and regret them both 3 litres? I think you'd need to be a pretty dedicated Mk3 enthusiast to risk a 7M-GTE. A manual 1JZ on the other hand.....
GeordieSteve
Yep two 3ltr turbos. Not a bad drive I suppose and REALLY cheap to insure but never had one which didn't explode randomly

Bryan, according to mkiiisupra.net, the JZA70 (2.5 TT) was available as an Aerotop. As Scooter said, not that common in the UK, even as a hardtop. bondango
If 7M's scare you then look for the Jza70 2.5tt Aero. Theres a nice one on mkiiisupra.net possibly for sale. And as Gareth knows, if 7M's dont scare you, you can make monsters outta them :-)
Jake
I think there's a rumour that they blow head gaskets.... Surely not! Where did you come by this new information?
garethr
as Gareth knows, if 7M's dont scare you, you can make monsters outta them :-)There would be a lot of satisfaction in owning said monster, but I think you'd agree it would require a lot of dedication and enthusiasm. A Mk3 is on the list of cars I'd like to own, but I'm afraid I'd take the easier route and go for a 2.5 TT.

Well Gareth were building a big single Jza70 for a customer in a few months time, Prolly gonna go 1.5JZ (2JZ bottom end 1JZ head) running a GT4088(65mm). Should put the cat amongst some more pigeons too
dangerous brain
Cheers for the info people. I'm not into a lot of maintainance so yes a 7M does scare the bejayzus out of me. Thanks for the pointer bondango I've posted some questions about that car on the mk3 board
