Sure. Ryan Giggs is Welsh, his mother is Welsh, his father is Welsh. He never turned down the chance to play for England because he was never offered it. He was never offered it because he is not aligible to play for England. I know the welsh/scottish/etc etc would love it that he 'turned down' England but sadly for you Celts it's not true. I've heard Giggs himself says it.

ryan played for England U18's and then choose to play for Wales

If that is true then I stand corrected. Mind you, as for thinking I could give a flying fuck whether he turned down England or not you are sadly mistaken. I could not give a shit who plays for England. :)

False and False

He played for England schoolboys - the criteria for which is where you go to school, not which country you can play senior international football.

"Ryan Joseph Giggs (born Ryan Joseph Wilson on 29 November 1973 in Cardiff) is a Welsh football player, renowned worldwide as being arguably one of the finest wingers in English football.

He was born in Wales to a mixed race father and a white mother, but was brought up in England.

Giggs currently plays for Manchester United for whom he is their longest-serving player. Giggs had played for the England Schoolboys (which all schoolboys in Great Britain are eligible for, regardless of nationality), but plays for the Welsh national team as an adult, once holding the record for being the youngest player to ever play for Wales.

So great was Giggs' talent, that even the England Under-21 coaches like Lawrie McMenemy checked to see whether he was eligible to play for the nation. Contrary to popular belief, Giggs could not have played for the full England national side. He is only eligible to play for the English Schools team because he went to school there.

In order to play for the England national football team, he would have had to have been born in England or have had English parents or grandparents. However, both his parents and all four grandparents are Welsh. Giggs has often been seen by England supporters as the dream solution to the lack of left-sided English talent for the national team during the 1990s. "

we didn't play well to start with, but we had the edge and deserved to win that game, sooooo fustrating!

shit team shape with rooney just getting fustrated up front on his own.

think we should have played slightly more offensive to start with and gone for the early goal clear win - the back were solid as a rock!

I wouldn't be suprised if ronaldo finds himself on the end of a very heavy tackle one day that injurs him and takes him out for a while... he is too smarmy for his own good, cocky little f*cker lol

I am sorry mate but please show me where you see me taking the piss? I am not putting England down, I am expressing an opinion which seems to be shared by a lot of other people - English included.

England did not play well in this tournament. If you think they did then you are obviously entitled to your opinion as I am mine.

He's still a cheating cunt. He was one before the World Cup started and he's an even bigger one now in my book.

I hope somebody jumps out of the crowd at Old Trafford and stabs him in the heart. Seriously.

Schumacher and Ali also cheated to win, interesting that you seem to approve of that.

Which country do you support in sport? Seems you're not English, where are you from?

Sorry to rain on your "party" guys, but that is just one foul...

What about all the other far worse fouls that will be commited today?...

There are now thousands (yes thousands!..) of women and kids who will be dreading the end of this day, when after all the crying and drinking is over will cop for some of the worst beatings than you or I have ever had to experience (Domestic violence will increase by AT LEAST 40% today)..

Spare a thought for them, not for some overpaid professional sportsman...:hide:
