He never turned down the chance to play for England because he was never offered it. He was never offered it because he is not aligible to play for England. I know the welsh/scottish/etc etc would love it that he 'turned down' England but sadly for you Celts it's not true. chilli Posted July 1, 2006 Share Posted July 1, 2006 we didn't play well to start with, but we had the edge and deserved to win that game, sooooo fustrating! shit team shape with rooney just getting fustrated up front on his own. think we should have played slightly more offensive to start with and gone for the early goal clear win - the back were solid as a rock!
