MrRalphMan
Hi all, This is my first attempt to run homebrew and I think I'm getting something wrong. I've just found SCUMMVM and have started playing Monkey Island again on the PC and my Pocket PC. I wanted to try it on my PSP so I have done the following. I have downloaded the following - SCUMM 0.9.0 for the PSP eLoader .97 eMenu 0.1 I installed the eloader/emenu onto my PSP and installed the PSP version of SCUMMvm in /PSP/GAME. I then loaded GTA-LS and the eMenu came up with SCUMMVM-PSP as an option to load. When I try to start it, I get a quick eLoaded test come up, then the screen goes black and the PSP turns itself off. I also downloaded another homebrew program and that gives me the same error. Has anyone got an idea on what I can do? Thanks, Paul Ryder
leelbuk
What version of PSP you got? I'm guessing 2.01 or higher as you are using the Liberty City exploit. Be aware that not all homebrew runs on 2.01+ firmware as the software cannot run in kernel mode. Read the readme with ScummVM to check whether it works on 2.01+ If it is compatible with 2.01+ and eloader then it could be that you have not put all the files in the correct directories on the memory stick! I would check for you but might not help as my PSP is 1.
Whitesupraboy2
on the plus side up to psp 2.6's can now be downgraded to 1.5 to make running backups easy (though i suggest you wait a little as current version people keep bricking psp's by doing it incorrectly)
leelbuk
Just read that on PSP-Hacks.com (good source for people wanting to run homebrew!) I'd suggest you go 1.5 as soon as you can mate so you can boot homebrew from the PSP dashboard, but I'd wait until all the bugs are ironed out of this this downgrader as you could easily turn your PSP into an expensive paperweight as whitesup says. MrRalphMan
Thanks Guys, yeah I'm running 2.01 at the mo. Looks like an upgrade to 2.5, then to 1.5 might be in order. On the 1.5 machines, is there a way of running GTA-LS? As this needs 2.00 or greater.
