Justin
I'm getting a company car soon so won't being driving the Supe to work anymore So I'm looking to save some money by reducing my annual mileage on my Supra policy. Does anyone know what the thresholds are? Eg 2000, 5000, 10000, 15000 ? I dunno. Cheers
Gaz Walker
I think less that 3000 makes a good saving Justin Regards, Gaz.
RICHARDA
From my experience you can choose yourself. I'm with efalant and specified 3000 miles. I pay £450 a year all in fully comp of course. Rich
toyotasuprauk
I know Adrian Flux offer discount for less than 5000 miles but its nothing to get excited about unfortunately.
Jake
In my experience it makes hardly any difference. A couple of times I've asked for quotes for different annual mileages and it was only like £25 difference between 'up to 3000' and 'up to 15000' (YMMV )
dandan
Adrian Flux was 10% @ 5000 miles for me. Dan
Aerotop Dave
It made a big difference on mine, something like £200 between 4000 and 12000 miles a year (age 34, 9 year's no claims, this is with Elephant)
albundy68
from unlimited to limited 4500 miles saved me a grand! the caps on mine were 3K 4.5K and 6K and you can get say the 4.5K miles one then pay the extra to go up to 6K if you do more milage than expected! Justin
Phoned Tesco to amend my policy. He said it was the same price if I was to reduce from 10000 to 5000. Lying scroat. I'll change it to a specialist insurer when my policy is up. I don't dislike many people/things in life but I f*cking hate these insurance b*stards:mad:
albundy68
couldnt agree more, put em all in a big box and chuck it into a big deep lake. to be fair its not the ins companies fault, its the government, no regulations on what insurance companies can do/charge, it'd be like if my boss came in one day and said do what you like and decide your own wage, - madness! Agreed mate. It doesn't affect anyone in government or revenue generation so there's no need for them to look at/regulate it. My personal opinion from my 'insurance shopping' experiences is that the deal you get boils down to the person who picks up the phone to you and how greedy or conscientious they are feeling at that particular moment. Awesome system.
