loks
Started a paper round at the age of 13 did it for 3 years. one week i did 4 guys rounds and got £40! it felt like i was the richest boy in the world! Very similar... when I was 13/14, I'd start work at the local Forbuoys newsagent (Lovedean) at 5:00am - mark the papers, serve behind the counter and then do a morning paper round. Go to school and behave like a right swot. Come home, do an evening paper round and finally deliver PO telegrams on my push bike up to 15 miles away I hate work now. Jake
when I was 13/14, I'd start work at the local Forbuoys newsagent (Lovedean) Lovedean! I'm walking distance from there, in Cowplain. Do you know the Spotted Cow pub? My house is just behind there. Edit, You're talking about Lovedean in Hampshire, right?
how_supra
I haven't read your first post, but my first job was in a duvet shop called textiland. paid £2.25 an hour.

Edit, You're talking about Lovedean in Hampshire, right? Right, I lived in Milton Road back then and my morning paper round was on Wecock Farm but my evening round was much nicer, probably close to your place... Longwood Avenue, Gladys Avenue, etc... I remember the Spotted Cow, my local was the Green Dragon at Lovedean...
Jspec Germany
Mowed lawns and shoveled snow for $5 a yard/driveway when I was 13. Odd jobs in shops for the next few years and then picked up a condom-tester job at 17. Money wasn't great, but the perks were amazing. MrAngry
I worked in a model shop on Saturdays when I was 15. Got paid £7.50 a day but got some good freebies from the job. I can't believe that was twenty years ago! Tempus fugit as they say
Faye
Didn't get my first job until I left school at 17. I was a folder weeder, which meant clearing out all the rubbish information in folders - yay what a cool job. Pay wasn't too bad though and have stayed with the same company coming up for 10 years in January.
