michael
Did you have a paper round? Deliver Milk? Work in a shop? Chimney Sweep? I got my first job when I was 15, I worked at 'Toyworld' after school at at weekends, loads of fun - more playing with toys than selling them most of the time. A mighty £2.00 per hour too, kerching 15 years later and I still haven't taken a day off sick.... 15 years later and I still wish I was enjoying my job like I did then.... So what did you do? Todd
Selling sweeties in the shop in the picture house then promoted to projectionist at the old age of 15. This was back in the days when normal films were shown early evening and the X rated ones came out later on, god I miss that job

Charlotte
I worked in a bakery on a saturday morning. It was hell. The bakery owner was a complete weirdo with a hook for an arm, who used to bully all the young girls. I think i got £1.65 an hour. Toyworld sounds much more fun! Supragal
I worked with ponies voluntarily from teh age of 10 maybe less, then got paid at 14 when I was old enough to teach, like £15 a day or something silly. Then at 16 when I was left in charge it went up to like £3.50 an hour or something. Left at 17.5 years for another horsey job somewhere else but non teaching. Kinda miss it. Don't miss the weather though!
jim_supra
My first job was when I was 14, working in a chip shop/restraunt. I lied about my age when i started, told the boss i was 16:d it was cash in hand so he never checked. I worked weekends and all through the summer holidays, usually 6 days a week, 10.00 through till 7.00!! I was on £3.20 an hour, and most weeks cleared £150:) with my first pay packet I went out and bought a portable minidisc recorder, Have still got it nearly ten years on, and it still works:) oh yeah, and I havent had a day off sick from any job yet! I much prefer to give everyone else a cold too!!

Scoboblio
At 16, sticking CDs and junkmails onto magazines..... mind numbing crap. First proper job was stacking shelves at Sainsbury's.... wasn't as bad as it sounds because everyone shopped at Tesco, we had no customers
michael
That's what the local cool kids did, hanging off the delivery vans and running around the streets with milk before jumping back on A-Team style.

gaz1
i was 14, when my old man woke me up and said your coming to work with me today as he was let down by one of his labourers, lugging sleepers around all day and breaking concrete, i never went back to school and worked with him for 3 years on £87 a week
suprafish
Had a paper round at 14, must have been hardest paper round in the world, i got to cycle to the top of the local hill to deliver papers to all the big houses every day before school, Used to get loads in tips at christmas though. paper rounds = child slave labour
Ark
I had a paper-round at 13. Kept it up until 17 when I got a job on the deli-counter at Sainsbury's. Kept with that through-out school and into university holidays. That was around when Sunday trading became permitted - no regular staff wanted to change their lives, so I lapped it up - double rate, with extra for long hours, un-sociable hours... Sundays were worth almost £10 / hour in the end!!! Only downside is I can NEVER EVER buy anything off the deli these days, because I know what has happened to it in the store room... Thorin
you didnt do a good enough job - eggs are still covered in poo I doubt any of the ones I did 13 years are still on the shelves. I'd hope not anyway. Loads got dropped on the floor and you'd have rats running round your feet.
Charlotte
I worked with ponies voluntarily from teh age of 10 maybe less I did that too, from the age of 12-14. I used to get up at the crack on a saturday morning (summer and winter), lead a group of younger kids round some fields and then sort the horses out after. I didn't get any money though, got paid in rides when the other kids had finished we had an hour. Loved it even though i always ended up with 'Mr Crazy' on my ride who would buck his way round the whole field, trying to race the others.
