Selling a Supra - hints needed

Hiya. I've been trying to sell my Supra for a while now. I can't believe no one wants it.... it's a beautiful car.

I have so far only stuck with the standard AutoTraders ads. Can anyone recommend a specialist magazine that would be an appropriate place to advertise? Do the Sales forums here have much success? And any tips on valuing an import - as I cannot find a book value for it (obviously I guess).

Thanks very much :-)

Tracy

The Autotrader add finished a couple of weeks ago and the link to that doesn't wrok any more - so I can't show you the exact ad....

But the basics were:

1996 P reg TOYOTA SUPRA Manual Petrol MK IV Supra 3.0 24 valve manual 6 speed Jap Import No Modifications Immaculate A1 Condition £7400

Thats either cheap for a TT or expensive for an N/A

I personally think these facelift 6 speed NA's are the best value for money NA's out there. Ok it might seem expensive as £4K ish might get you a 93 silver or red NA manual, but with the 6 speed facelift models, you get a stronger quicker ratio box, LSD as standard, the possibility of UK brakes, better (subjective i know) colours like RSP, Gunmetal......and it is 3-5 yrs newer.

However my opinion doesn't matter! its the buyers that do, and the whole supra market is quite small. There are the 'power' buyers who won't look at a NA at all, there are the specific buyers that are after a certain colour/aerotop model etc, and then there are the keen younger ones that are buying up all the cheapest ones as its all they can afford when they have to tack on their massive insurance premium.

The newer facelift NA's such as the one's here are made to be a 'driver's' car (arguably) more than any other of the supra's, however if you are after a 'drivers' car in the UK then you probably aren't loking at a supra.

I would stick at it at £7400ono, and like someone else advised put it on Pistonheads and shout about its more sporting pretensions as most people on here don't know the spec's/benefits of the later SZ-R's let alone someone who has just a bit of supra curiousity............
