Kevin M
Well I've had a fun day at work today! Took my company car in to our allocated garage for its first service(20k) at 9.30am. Car went in running sweet, no problems to report. Returns at 1700 to collect it, and the receptionist tells me that the wrong parts were delivered, and the mechanic is still working on it, but should be finished in about 10 mins. (Fair enough) 45 mins later, the mechanic reverses my car out of the garage, and tells me that its been serviced, but i should get it to the dealer as soon as possible, because it seems to be lacking power!......Hmmmm! I tell him the car drives fine, and take it away to try it out. 200 yds along the road the engine management light comes on, and the car wont rev above 3000rpm with no turbo kicking in! Took it straight back, explains the fault, and a now very unhappy mechanic by this point starts to look at it again. He explained that he'd spilled deisel when changing the filter and had pressure washed the engine (again, fair enough) and attacks it with the airline to dry out any sensors/ connectors that may be wet. With no result from that, he produces the diagnostic reader. (Which i had to show him where to connect it to). I have now spent over 2 hours waiting on my car tonight. I ended up leaving it with them, to take to the dealer in the morning, and had to get one of the other engineers from my work to run me home (nearly another hour). Just goes to prove "If it aint broken, dont fix it!" How can some garages get away with this????? (this is a common occurrence with them) Anyone else got any similar horror stories to tell?? Sorry guys and girls rant over! Feel better now!

toyotasuprauk
Shocking that they can charge so much for such a poor service. Don’t mechanics have to be registered like electricians do?
