Steve Cargill
Originally posted by scooby_doo_do They look good, but not sure how you get a bhp increase out of the car because of them BHP gain, PMSL  You can lighten a flywheel to reduce the mass. This improves acceleration slightly by effectivly reducing effect of the mass (i.e. weight of the car) the engine has to move. As it goes through the gears it means 1lbs off the flywheel is equivilant to a few lbs off the car. A secondary effect allows the engine to increase revs faster (in neutral) again due to less mass to shift. The third effect is to remove inertia meaning you can get a really rough tickover as there is a lot less to keep the engine rotating smoothly during the strokes. I can't see the mass reduction on these pullys having much of an effect, unless the aircon and power steering ones just slip and so remove the pumps ;-) This is my understanding of it all anyway. i.e. IMHO it's 80ll0x, but they would look nice.
