Pig
that exactly, he has to go to the police and hope that the reg is real! TBH its not going to be an easy one! I had a friend that got driven into and the driver drove off, it took months to sort out!

Class One
No, do it properly go to the Police Station. You can get reg details from the DVLA but, as its now a technical fail to stop collision, you should put it through the insurance and report it to Police so you can avoid this scenario: You get said details of registered keeper from DVLA, BUT either the driver was uninsured or he's no longer the keeper. What then? If you haven't reported you're on a limb as you must report asap and within 24hours, if not then you won't be able to retrospectively claim on your insurance. gaz1
i just rang the number for my boy and asked if it deff not anyone from that adress and the lady said her husband is not in, so thinking she has either crapped herself and there going to talk about it, or she doesnt know so think better wait till he gets home
Guest gzaerojon
just to confirm the reg checks out with the car, you could start an online insurance qoute, just get to the part when it asks for the reg and it should give the make and model at least
glenn
police wont be intrested,as long as he has given address / no-plate that is all he is obligated to do. give redgistration to your insurance co,they can trace car and owner and his insurance co.i had this in january my insurance co took 4wks to tell me the guy had no insurance, and police told me the above unless i could prove no ins, time igot letter from my ins another 4wks and 4 months to track himdown even though i gave them address that i found, time is rolling on,now it seems he has no licence.they are going to now serve him with summons if they can find him andthat has to happen with in 6month of accident so 2wks to go-nightmare.anyway good luck!
