RedM
Who else are we using? I'd like to stay with the clubs insurer but not at that price so I'm going to get some prices elsewhere.

supra100
I just used Performance direct. 300 quid fully comp for TT with limited mileage and mods declared etc. I'm a young 40 year old though!! Do a Google search;)
michael
Adrian Flux for me Martin, no complaints at all - they also seem to get cheaper with each renewal. ~£600 all declared.
RedM
I'm after people opinions and recommendations not a list of insurers.

I'm just waiting for them to call back. TBH, I like Sky, I like their agreed value option but I don't like the price which is just £40 lower than last year! supRo
Lancaster - They were £500 cheaper than Sky for me

TBH, I like Sky, I like their agreed value option but I don't like the price which is just £40 lower than last year! Does insurance still go down each year when you get to your age then? I must admit that I didn't even ring around this year so maybe I could have got cheaper than I have, I'm happy with the service and their policy on mods though. RedM
Cheeky bugger. Regretting not buying an old clunker years and insuring it to get the NCB up. £850 from Lancaster!
gaz1
are sky the only ones that do agreed values, as i need to reinsure due to mods and would like agreed value

RedM
One thing I've noticed is that everybody seems to be giving a 'small' discount for being in an owners club. Let's hope that Sky's official insurer status gets more knocked off.
poot
I'm 26 with 6yrs no claims - best quote i could get on my NA last year with Adrian Flux was £755 protected. I recently got my renewal through £780!!! They added a £25 renewal charge?!! Never seen one of those before! Anyway started looking around for another insurer, thought i'd give Elephant another go since i heard a rumor that they now insure NAs. £495 protected! It gets better - they phoned me the next day and to win my business they lopped another £40 off - £455 Downside is in the event of an accident they will only return my car to the manufacturers original spec, but since the only mods i have are alloys i'm willing to take that risk. mawby
Remember that if you get a better quote than Sky you should get back on the phone to them and tell them. Although they should always give you the lowest price the first time they are able to give extra discount if it is to beat a genuine quote from another insurer. It can't hurt to try. Mike
yep, I'm with the Mawbs on this one... Insurers love a scrap..
RedM
I've done that, Mr. Mawby, Sir. Jae is going to have a look tomorrow but from his tone I'd be amazed if it was anything more than a token gesture. What I can't work out is that he implied my premium was high because they offer an approved valuation system. He didn't say that this extra cost would be removed if I decided not to go the approve value route. Then theres the £35 admin fee for having someone decide that the car is or isn't worth what I think. Even though they did it last year. That has certainly been my experience with Sky. They give rubbish renewal quotes (as does every insurer!), but they will match or beat the competition when asked. I saved about 100 quid on the Supra this time round by getting them to beat Adrian Flux's quote. And I did the same thing the month before when I bought my Elise. Phoned Sky first and got a reasonable quote. Phoned Adrian Flux and got a quote 150 quid cheaper. Then phoned Sky back and asked them to match it, which they did. grimreaper
why is it when you dont have any claims in the year u have got your insurance you end up having to pay more the next year, it should be less?
RedM
Just tried Bell. £667 fully comp with £250 voluntary excess. Will mention it to Sky when they ring me back.

BigPedro
give elephant a shout guys my N/A is insured through them I'm 26 6 yrs NCB and my quote was just under £
how_supra
I'd try Bell as well, they were £100 cheaper than Sky's second offer. Overall Sky weren't that good with me, and I was surprised when they told me my premium already had my club discount applied, even though last years I didn't have the discount applied because the FTO club didn't have the agreement set up then. But I sticked with sky though simply because I couldn't be arsed to faff about, too many exams and I was moving house.
