merckx Posted June 26, 2006 Share Posted June 26, 2006 You don't need to use caliper paint. Spray cans from Plasti Kote are good , smooth or hammered finish from B & Q or Halfords. black cat Posted June 27, 2006 Share Posted June 27, 2006 high temp paint on the disk bell mind, hammeright works but looks shabby after a year or so if you have a heavy right foot. if you dive like a pussy like me though it should be fine. Mr T Posted June 28, 2006 Share Posted June 28, 2006 I've always used the Hummel enamel modeling paints. 2 small pots will do 3 coats on all 4 calipers, and at £1.10 a pot, that is cheap as chips:) My first Supra a had for 3.5 years and it still looked like new when I sold her. The secret is in the preparation as usual. Wash, fine wet&dry sandpaper, clean off with methylated spirits. allow to dry between coats. After, apply Supra decals. (from Gordon F on the board) and you got new brakes. Also you have a very large choice of colour's. So check out your local model shop. PS here is a couple of pics of mine in metallic blue. Also black Hammerite smooth is ideal for those rusty wheel hubs (same prep' as above) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
