Suprash
You think the 6spd feels close together, the NA's gears are even closer. when I get back in my TT is feels like a football field inbetween gears. Which is strange, I would have thought the more gears you have, the closer the gears will be.....
Paul R
Hi, I've had a mess about with changing gear today and I think the problem is the following: The 'catch' that stops you putting the car into reverse seems to be broken, hence it lets you put the stick too far to the right. It's like the catch is always up. Anyone know how this mechanism works? is it possible to fix? Cheers, Paul.

ewizzy
didnt someone else have a similar problem when they had the clutch changed or, a quickshift added or something? basically, when it was put back together, the thing that holds the lever in place properly, (if you take the gator off the thing thats held on with 4 bolts like a square shape) was put on upside down, stopped the liftyuppy thing from doing anything, and it felt like it would go into reverse (although, I am sure the synchro rings would probably prevent this from actually happening, unless you REALLY force it) I'll have a quick search and try and find the original thread.... Ady
sticky second gear changes when cold could be down to the gear box oil. there is a thread on it in the guides section. Might be worth changing the oil?
Paul R
'Holy Thread Resurrection Batman' as the saying goes! I've just read all that. Did you get your gearbox problem sorted out at all? A plate was missing off of the shifter surround - as a quick shift had been fitted before I had the car and then it had been removed, but they didnt put the old plate back. The plate stops the gear stick from going over to the right when changing gear. I got one in the end and fitted it, problem solved Paul.
