You can replace either with a straight thru pipe, but most people replace the second cat first, purely because it's easier to do.

 

stop pissing around and get them both off! :D

If you're only taking one out, I would make it the first one, as it's the most restrictive and nearest the engine so likely to produce the most benefits. Mine hits just over 1.1bar of boost with just no.1 out. It passed it's MOT with only no.2 left in, so no worries there.

One of mine is out already. It's just the one closest to the engine that is left in...

 

I'm getting 0.9 bar as normal.

Sort of a survey here, but how many people are happy to run with both cats out, no traction control, auto box and 1.2bar... in the rain?

 

In answer to the question - take out the first one (better heat dispearsal) and leave in the second.

 

As for taking both out then putting in a restrictor, what's that all about?
